A quick detour on the Virginia Dare Trail leads to Roanoke Island, the historic harbor town of Manteo, and the Dare County Regional Airport. Back on the beach and through Cape Hatteras is Ocracoke NC and one the oldest lighthouses on the North Carolina coast still on active duty.
