Just south on NC Highway 58 are the upscale Pine Knoll Shores, Indian Beach, and Salter Path communities. Emerald Isle is the last ocean town before returning to the mainland and Cape Carteret. Lighthouses gleam along the North Carolina Coast like diamonds protecting a beautiful lady. The Cape Lookout Lighthouse, shown left, is a National Historic Landmark and the only lighthouse on the Crystal Coast. The lighthouse is located at the southern tip of the Cape Lookout National Seashore near Beaufort and is accessable by boat or ferry.
